My purpose in designing this site is to help you create shared family experiences through travel, increase your family’s quality time together, and meet the diverse travel desires of your family, at each age and stage of life.
Travel Approach
Our style of travel is based on a few key elements.
- We value our time together, rarely at home do we get the same kind of quality time for an extended period that we do when travelling, so when we travel, we do things together.
- Everyone gets to pick something they want to do on our trips, and we plan around this, so our experiences are diverse (more on this in my blog post here).
- We want to experience the place we are visiting. Yes, we do lots of touristy things, but we also love learning about new places, cultures, people and food. Given this, we usually steer clear of hotels and instead stay in vacation rentals where we get to meet our neighbours.
- We plan ahead, this means I spend a fair amount of pre-travel time looking into the places, deals and things we want to see so that after our trip we feel like we have done everything we wanted to (lucky you, I’m sharing all my awesome planning with you). This also means that once we are on holiday, we don’t have to think about the details and can just let our fantastic vacation unfold.
- We budget and save for our holidays ahead so that we come home with our memories rather than a whole bunch of bills.
- We know that nothing ever goes according to plan, but the best stories and memories usually follow the crazy one-lane shortcut through the English countryside that was so not faster.
