Who Doesn’t Want a Tour Guide to Keep their Family Company on their Next Road Trip?
If you’ve made it to our website then you already know how much our family loves to travel. What you might not know is how nerdy I get when it comes to researching all things travel. Lucky for you, when I find something I love, I want to tell everyone all about it. So here it goes.
Our Experience
When it comes to tour guides we’ve tried a bunch of different things. We’ve hired a guide to tour us around Santorini for the day, used online resources to learn about the Acropolis before visiting, read travel books to plan our trip to Singapore, watched YouTube videos that walked us around Stonehenge, listened to an audio tour as we visited the Ancient Roman Baths, gone on a guided yoga retreat in Haida Gwaii, and tried a GuideAlong audio tour as we explored Maui.
Why Use a Tour Guide?
- To Learn Something New – Whether we do this before a holiday or while we are on it, our goal is always to learn about where we are travelling. We want to meet the locals, experience a city not just visit it, learn about its history, culture, people, and food.
- To Ensure We Spend Our Limited Vacation Time Wisely – There is always more to see and do and we want to strike the right balance and make sure we don’t come home from our travels needing a vacation. We also want to ensure we choose places to visit that have something for everyone in our family to enjoy.
- Entertainment – It’s fun to pass the time, particularly when driving or flying, listening to something interesting that keeps everyone engaged.
