Whenever we head to Whistler we almost always find ourselves in a condo with a kitchen, so we tend to do a fair amount of cooking for ourselves. Instead of eating out all the time, we like to go out for a special dinner, breakfast and snacks. Whistler Village is also a great place to sit outside and enjoy a drink on the patio and people watch. While the list below is by no means exhaustive, it’s a few of our favourites that we usually get to on each of our visits.

A Few Whistler Favourites

Restaurants

• Sushi Village – this is our favourite sushi spot in Whistler. The sushi and drinks are great and incredibly reasonable. It is a fun place to visit with the family and sit in one of their semi-private rooms. Our kids love that you have to climb into your seat and can keep ordering dishes until you are full.
• Portobello – is a great place for a sandwich or coffee, with some nice outdoor seating.
• Merlin’s Bar and Grill – a great place for end of day drinks and appys to share in the upper village.

Bakeries

• Hot Buns – this is our go to for breakfast and nothing beats their cinnamon buns fresh out of the oven.
• Purebread Bakery Whistler – with several locations across Vancouver and Whistler, this is a great spot for a treat or a lunch on the go.
• The Whistler Grocery Store – this a great spot for fresh baked goodies in the morning or for a snack.

Ice Cream

• Cows – this one is a tradition and a place we find ourselves every time we visit Whistler, the smell of homemade waffle cones literally pulls you in. They have a wide variety of ice cream and lots of fun shirts and accessories. The lactose free options are quite limited, so for anyone who needs a non-dairy option, check out Hundo-P.
• Hundo-P – for the best smoothies and real fruit cashew-based ice cream. Portions are a good size and the smoothies and ice cream are amazing. Located inside the Whistler Grocery Store building.
