Good Eats in and Around Sooke, Canada
Be sure to check out our family’s favourite spot Shirley Delicious, this is one of our favourite cafes and breakfast stops on all of Vancouver Island. We aren’t the only ones who think so, they ranked number 13 on Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in Canada in 2021. When you go, make sure to try the Breakkie Bun.
A Few Favourites
- Shirley Delicious 8am-3pm, closed Tuesdays
- Hands down our favourite spot to eat breakfast or lunch. Whether we are stopping for a muffin or croissant to bring on a hike or a breakfast sandwich on the way home, everything is homemade and delicious, and you can connect to their Wi-Fi-a welcome luxury when most of the area doesn’t have cell reception. Located across the street from the Shirley Community Hall, which hosts a Sunday market during the summer months.
- Stoked Wood Fired Pizzeria Open for pizza season April-November, 12-8pm Sat/Sun and 3-8pm Thur/Fri
- It took us a few tries before we got to experience the wood oven pizza; it seemed every time we drove by and saw the signs along the highway it was never open. Last summer we finally made it, we sat outside at one of picnic tables enjoying our pizza and the sunset and it was well worth the wait. Our favourites were the Stoked Margarita (little kids) and the Funghi (big kids).
- Route 14 open daily, 11:30am-9pm
- We found this spot when we were away for the weekend, great food, drinks and service.
- Mom’s Café, open Wednesday-Sunday, hours vary.
- This is a great place to stop for a diner breakfast or homemade piece of pie after a day of exploring.
